Have you ever had a question and didn’t know where to find the answer? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

This section is a compilation of answers to the questions most commonly asked by our constituents. Just start by following one of the links below. If you can’t find the question you wanted to ask, don’t hesitate to contact us.

  1. Who is eligible to participate in the weekend?

    Active duty, reserve, guard, or veterans of any branch of the U.S. military or family member of a gold star family are eligible to register for the current year for Husker Fans Salute the troops Weekend. If you are not or were not a service member at any time, please do not fill out a form. Please do not falsify any information on the registration form.

  2. Do I have to hold a PayPal account to make donations to Husker Fans Salute to the Troops or pay the registration fee?

    No.

  3. How does registration work?

    The registrant will click on the yellow DONATE button and will be taken to PayPal. Registrant does not have to hold an account with PayPal to pay the registration fee. Registrant will go through the prompts to pay the registration fee and will be directed to download the registration form. Registrant will fill out the registration form and return it to huskersalute@gmail.com.

  4. How many guests can I bring?

    Due to limited space guests are limited to four. This would be a total of five, including the registrant.

  5. I haven't heard from huskersalute.org yet. Why haven't I heard from them?

    Please contact us! If you paid your registration fee, you will receive a receipt, and you will receive information as time draws near to the event. Also, your email address may not be working. We may have tried to contact you and your address may have bounced back to us. Another reason may be that we have tried to contact you and our emails are going to your junk email or spam box. Please make sure our correspondence is going to your inbox. Also, you may have forgotten to pay the $50 or $75 registration fee. Please click here to do so.   6. What is the $50 registration fee for?

    The registration fee covers operating costs not covered by the main sponsors for the event. It also secures each family's slot for the event.

  7. Why do repeat attendees have to pay $75 for registration instead of $50?

    The event cost has gone up each year and we are trying to encourage more first-time attendees.

  8. What does my registration fee include?

    Your registration fee basically holds your slot for the weekend. Should you choose not to attend, your fee will be considered a donation to the event. It includes your stay at the hotel, welcome packet with gift, bus ride and tour to the UNL Athletics Facility, the watch party on Saturday and brunch on Sunday.

  9. I am unable to pay using the secure online donation form with my VISA, Mastercard, or online check. Is there another way I can send payment?

    Yes. Please contact huskersalute@gmail.com and explain your situation. You will be given directions on how to mail your payment in via check.

  10. May I donate more than just the $50 registration fee?

    Yes! Please visit our Donation page.

  11. When should I expect the schedule for Saturday game day?

    We will put out a schedule when the game time is published.

  12. Can I have more than one room?

    Sorry, but as part of your registration for Husker Fans Salute the troops weekend, you are limited to one room. The sponsors provide one room per military guest. However, you can go to the hotels web site at http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/lnkfs-the-lincoln-marriott-cornhusker-hotel/?scid=bb1a189a-fec3-4d19-a255-54ba596febe2 to reserve another room under a military rate.

  13. Can I arrive on Friday night?

    Sorry, but as part of your registration for Husker Fans Salute the troops weekend, the sponsors provide one room per military guest for Saturday night only. However, once you receive your confirmation number via email from huskersalute.org, you may contact the Cornhusker Hotel to reserve a room for Friday night. Be sure to mention you are part of the Husker Salute weekend event to ensure you receive the military rate. Your Friday night room will not be included as part of your Husker Salute package.

  14. Will someone pick me up at the airport if I fly in?

    Yes. The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker hotel does have an airport shuttle. When you arrive, give them a call at 402-474-7474 for the pick up service. Please note - Due to COVID-19 the airport shuttle may not be available during your stay.

  15. Can I bring friends and other guests to the Saturday morning tour, watch party or Sunday brunch?

    Soldiers and their immediate family (spouses and children) will have a total of 5 tickets to the events.

  16. Do I need to contact the Cornhusker Hotel to confirm my registration?

    No, you will be contacted by huskersalute.org before the event by email with an itinerary.

  17. Will I be required to place a deposit or credit card for my room?

    Yes. All guests will be required at hotel check-in to place a credit card or cash security deposit for their hotel room. Husker Salute Weekend is not responsible for any damages to guest rooms, stolen hotel property, or charges made directly to rooms by guests.

  18. Will you be providing tickets to the game?

    No, this game is a Husker away football game that we watch together at the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker hotel. We will have a watch party in the main ballroom.

  19. My plans have changed and I will not be able to attend the Husker Fans Salute to the Troops Weekend. What do I do next?

    Please contact huskersalute@gmail.com as soon as possible to cancel your registration. Your registration fee will be considered a donation and your spot will be offered to the next person on our list.
